photo mosaic...for work

i created this for my job; at work, they want a picture or a representation of yourself to hang up in the halls.it's pretty cool, everyone will have one, and they will be in these neat blow-up frames. wonder if i'll be the only dork to do a mosaic? well, i do have a hard time deciding on things like this- and i don't like photos of myself... although i have plenty, there are few i like. this way i got to pic 35! ha!

the bighuge labs are pretty cool, you can do neato stuff with your pics on there.

so sometimes when i go out i like to just take a bunch of photos. of random stuff and whatnot.
i resisted going digital for so long because i thought it was cheating or something. i am a fool, because now i haven't taken a film photo in over a year.
so i'll wander around outside and take a bunch of photos and pretend that they look good. then i get home and upload them and realize they aren't that great, but i sure have a lot of them!
when i was in high school i thought for sure i'd be a photographer someday. that was before digital, obviously. i guess i still want to be one, but realize i'm just not that good. but i still carry my camera with me. cause now i can take thousands of not too good photos!

Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead

today is the first Day of the holiday, Dia De Los Muertos, so i have been thinking a lot about relatives and others that have passed on.
i really love the whole concept of the Day of the Dead Holiday, as i think americans are really uptight about how they deal with death in general.

i got to participate in the Viva La Vida Fest that was held at the Mexicarte Museum last weekend. it was really festive, fun and amazing. i love all the costumes and art and the ofrendas that were set up. it's a meaningful and colorful celebration.
